Dear friends in guiding and scouting,
The Joint Committee of Girl Guides in Denmark is happy to invite you to our international training on social entrepreneurship. The training will take place December 1-4 2016 in Holstebro, Denmark.
Duty to others is one of the fundamental principles in guiding and scouting. The training on social entrepreneurship in guiding and scouting will focus on putting duty to others in a new perspective by aiming at creating sustainable value in the local community. The training combines the guide and scout method with the ”Design for Change” methodology for working with social entrepreneurship with youth and children.
The aim of the training is to get experience on working with social entrepreneurship in a guiding and scouting context for creating value adding community projects with a strong focus on involvement and empowerment of guides and scouts. When empowering the guides and scouts in the creative and decision making process they experience a great sense of ownership for the value creation.
- You are working with either programme or training in your association and are in a position where you are able to work implementing learnings from the training in your association
- Additionally, we encourage the participation of young leaders below 30 years of age
To insure diversity amongst the training participants we encourage you to send maximum two participants pr. guiding and scouting association.
The training will be held in English, thus a certain level of English proficiency is needed to fully benefit from the training.
Participation fee and accommodation will be covered by the Joint Committee of Girl Guides in Denmark. Participants will have to pay for their airfare to and from Billund Airport, while the bus trip to and from Holstebro is a part of the training and therefore covered.
